Favorite Artists:

"Many people will look at my work and try and guess who inspired me, as if it's that easy of a question. I admire and obsess over so many great creative minds. One of the strongest influences on me has been Salvador Dali. However I also constantly study the old masters, Dutch Masters, Renaissance and Neo-Classical greats such as Ingres, Vermeer, Caravaggio,Velazquez, Rubens, Titian, Rembrandt, Jacques-Louis David and van Eyck to name a few. Some more modern artists such as Lucien Freud, Escher, Monet, Klimt, Degas, de Lempicka, Henry Moore, Giacometti, Lou Carbone also have greatly inspired me."

Favorite Musicians:

"My iPod playlists are as diverse as the visual artists that inspire me. Music plays an indispensable role to my soundtrack of life. I can go from jamming to Bob Marley or Jack Johnson to Metallica to Frank Sinatra to Dave Matthews. A very partial list of my other all time and current favorites are: Matt Costa, Donavon Frankenreiter, ALO, G. Love, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Tristan Prettyman, Johnny Cash, The Doors, Timmy Curran, Citizen Cope, Ben Lee, John Mayer, Guster, Dashboard Confessional, Bob Dylan and Xavier Rudd. I also completely love the Blues, Classical, Latin and World music."

Creative Process:

"Sometimes, when I paint, I just see the image and almost trace it as if my brain were projecting it on the canvas. Sometimes, I have no clue what's going to happen next and it's just exciting to watch something happen while I humble myself with learning and screwing up.

Other times I zone out hypnotically and it's the most relaxing activity I can participate in. However, it's not always the process of painting itself that's the most rewarding, it's being able to bring to life and share with others the weird things that float around my head."
